Privacy Policy
HepatMon (hereinafter also referred to as “HepatMon”). This Privacy Policy for the use of HepatMon services, which supplements the General Terms and Conditions, is intended to provide you with comprehensive information on how your personal data is collected and processed in the ordering and preparation of second opinions and the realization of contractual relationships serving this purpose.
Cookies
The internet pages of the HepatMon website use cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored in the computer system through the Internet browser.
Many websites and servers use cookies. Many cookies contain a so-called cookie ID. A cookie ID is a unique cookie identifier consisting of a series of characters that websites and servers associate with the browser in which the cookie is stored. This allows websites and servers to distinguish the browser from other browsers that store different cookies and to recognize each browser by its unique cookie ID. By using cookies, HepatMon can provide HepatMon website users with more convenient services that would not be possible without the cookie setting. Through the use of cookies, information and offers on our website can be optimized for the benefit of users. Cookies allow us to recognize website users in order to facilitate their use of our website. For example, a visitor to a website that uses cookies does not have to enter access data each time he or she visits the website, as this is taken care of by the website and the cookie is thus stored on the user’s computer system.
Collection of general data and information
Whenever a data subject or automated system visits the HepatMon website, the website collects a set of general data and information. These general data and information are stored in server log files. The collected data may include (1) the type and version of the browser used, (2) the operating system used by the access system, (3) the website from which the access system comes to our website (so-called “referrers”), (4) sub-sites, (5) the date and time of access to the website, (6) the Internet Protocol address (IP address), (7) the Internet service provider of the access system, and (8) any other similar data and information that could be used in the event of attacks on our information technology systems.
Registration on our website
The data subject may register on the HepatMon website by providing personal data. Which personal data are transmitted to the HepatMon is determined by the respective input mask used for the registration. The personal data entered by the data subject are collected and stored exclusively for the internal use by HepatMon and for its own purposes.
Deletion and blocking of personal data
The HepatMon will only process and store the personal data of the data subject for as long as they are necessary for the purposes of the storage, or to the extent specified by the European controller or other regulators in laws or regulations to which the HepatMon, as controller, is subject.
If the storage purpose no longer exists, or if the storage period prescribed by the European or other competent regulator expires, the personal data shall be blocked or erased in accordance with the statutory provisions.
Right to restriction of processing
The data subject has the right granted by the European regulator to request that the controller restrict the processing of personal data when one of the following conditions applies:
The accuracy of the personal data is denied by the data subject, and it is for a period that allows the controller to verify the accuracy of the personal data.
The processing is unlawful and the data subject objects to the erasure of the personal data, requesting instead that the processing be restricted.
The controller no longer needs the personal data for the purposes of the processing, but needs them for the data subject to assert, exercise or defend legitimate claims.
Right to withdraw consent under data protection law
Every data subject has the right, granted by the European regulator, to withdraw his or her consent to the processing of his or her personal data at any time.
If the data subject wishes to exercise the right to withdraw the consent, he or she may, at any time, contact any employee of the HepatMon.
Legitimate interests pursued by the controller or a third party
Where the processing of personal data is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest is to carry out our activities in the interests of the well-being of all our employees and shareholders.
The period for which personal data will be stored
The criterion used to determine the retention period for personal data is the period set by law. After this period has expired, the relevant data is routinely deleted if it is no longer necessary for the fulfillment of the contract or the initiation of the contract.
